Great setting and layout. Resembles a Cretian village. Recommend sea view room as some rooms don’t have good views. Food faultless and very well presented. Service exceptional as you’d expect from a 5 star resort. Drinks a bit expensive but there’s a supermarket by the entrance to buy drinks and snacks on your balcony. Balconies not private but if they were it would spoil the view. Entertainment overall excellent. Not much going on locally so stick to the hotel food and drinks. Recommend private transfer from airport to Hotel. We were in our room an hour after landing! We had a day trip to Knossos and Heraklion but spent nearly 4 hrs on a coach picking up and dropping off. Not sure the cost of a private trip but probably worth that option. Knossos is 38 mins away according to Google. The only downside is the abundance of smoking on the premises.I’m an ex smoker but haven’t seen smoking like this in a while. Most of the guests are German and it seemed like everyone of them were smoking. Restaurants smoke free but otherwise you could smoke anywhere. On the whole, we would definitely go back and would also request room 409, a luxury bungalow room with sea view.

The hotel is amazing and the staff very friendly and approachable. The room was cleaned every morning and the cleaner was very friendly did an amazing job. Room with pool and see view was amazing to sit out in the evening. We were half board and the breakfast and dinner had something for everyone. Only criticism really was the desserts are very bland some had no flavour at all. The rest was great.

A lot positive. The property is generally lovely with great views and a few terrific bars in particular. The views of the beach from bars and restaurants are also incredible. Crete is full of lovely places and this is one. But there are issues. The lunch buffet was akin to a packed cruise ship, and I passed on even eating it. It’s a risk with any all inclusive but it was disappointing. We had a suite with its own pool and view of the ocean. It was nice but calling it five stars would be unfair. Crete has many elite properties and this one is nice but the competition is real. It was also frustrating at check in I asked abt our view. Some are ocean front and some you can SEE the ocean with obstructions from and my question was basically dismissed as dumb, ie, you got what you booked. That doesn’t happen at a five star where they are trying to ensure the best match possible. Both of us were a little taken aback. It may have been a joke or a language barrier but at the front desk at check in? Again a lot of positives and a mixed review.

This hotel is fantastic And the all the people working in this hotel are out standing friendly and nice; The design of the hotel like a small village, with small path to circulate. The beach of the hotel is also fantastic with sand and easy access

I have just experienced a fabulous facial at the spa, the half hour spent in the with Tina went by too quickly, this was a wonderful cleansing facil, relaxing experience beautiful spa in an amazing hotel. Definitely worth visiting. Thank you Tina my skin feels wonderful.

During our stay at Hotel Ikaros in Crete, we had dinner a few times at the hotel’s Italian restaurant. Each time, we were helped by Maria, who provided friendly and attentive service. As a vegetarian, it can be tricky to find suitable options, but Maria took the time to check with the kitchen and made sure everything was clear and suitable. It was much appreciated.
